Welcome
1st June, 2010I am certified in Social Studies Composite (6-12), English Language Arts (6-12), and Theatre (EC-12). Over the last six years, I have taught a variety of subjects, including U.S. History, World Geography, English I-IV, Government, Economics, and Theatre Arts. I believe this flexibility has been of benefit both to administration because I can fill positions as necessary, and to my students because I can use my experience in a variety of subjects to make connections between concepts and subject
Because I believe that life-long learning is important, I have continued my own learning by pursuing a Master of Arts in English from National University as well as learning about new technology on my own. Not only have I brought this learning into the classroom to help my students, but I believe this example helps students to see that learning can continue after high school and college.
In addition to this flexibility in subject areas, I have had the pleasure of teaching diverse student bodies, including large minority populations and Title I schools. I have had several hours in diversified learning training, and this year have taught both as a lead teacher and a co-teacher as Slaton High School has adopted an inclusion model to serve special needs students.
